Heh..I’m damn lazy to blog nowadays. Most probably because of too much of work to do during office hours. At the same time, I have nothing much to blog..So, I would prefer to rest and play with my kid when I’m at home rather than spending my time in front of PC.

“Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! “

I did not write anything on Cairo since coming back from that trip in May except for a few review on hotels and the great service from asiatravel.com. The trip was not a great one because I was there alone. Nothing much can be done when you are alone and going there for business purpose. Also another factor was the Champion League Final which left me frustrated and did not enjoy my stay in Cairo. When your heart was broken, you will never be happy whenever you are.

Egyptians are a great lot of peoples. They are warm and very welcoming. I like that kind of attitude eventhough so many improvement needed to be done in term of cleanliness, driving attitude and so on..Maybe they have been exposed to tourism industry for hundred of years (thousand maybe?) which made Egyptian to be tourist friendly. That’s only my wild guess..Anyway, I am looking forward to be there again in the near future. Maybe not alone but together with my family.

I don’t know whether I have misplaced the reader somewhere or my 2 years old superhyperactive hero has used it as a Star Trek gadget to attack the invasion of nanny alien from the 3rd galaxy.

Okay..I just want to rant about inefficient of certain quarters who make my life miserable during my journey. First, the online check-in for Emirates which system error occurred while I am in the middle of selecting seats. That is the second time it happened to me. Emirates should have done something on this. As a result of this, the check-in counter staff for Emirates in Cairo so unfriendly kept saying there’s no available seats from row 46 and above. Even for my second leg flight from Dubai where during that check-in time there still another 10 hours to go for that flight. Assuming he is right, geesshhhh many of the passengers are so internet savvy and really waiting in front of the PC to quickly book the seats the minutes 12 hours check-in grace period started. I am right to say that staff is incompetence and been trained to say NO to guest request because I saw one empty seats available during the flight. How can he said to me all seats has been assigned.?

Secondly, he did not check-in my luggage all the way to the last destination. He claimed that I am using different airline for my last sector. This seems to me as the worst reason given by that incompetent counter staff because I have been traveling for many time and  this is the first time I have been told that my luggage cannot be checked-in until the last destination. Because of that, I have had to go through the routine of claiming my luggage and recheck-in the luggage. I missed to do many things during the whole process and this is a terrible experience to me. I tried to understand people culture and behaviour but this one does not stand to be respected by me. I am not trying to say all the Egyptians are incompetence but there are some who really need to use their head instead of their knee.

This bad experience has really played an important part in putting my trust towards Emirates. I will choose other airline if possible for my next trip.

Emirates really need to look into this. No point of promoting online check-in if they can’t deliver the service.

   

So, how to motivate yourself? Different person do has different ways of motivating yourself. Like myself, I will normally think of my family. I am here in Cairo because of my family. I am working hard is because of my family. I can’t see them go through some kind of suffering period again if I am not focus in what I am doing now. If I am not focus in looking for customers, I may not hit my annual sales budget. This will off course reflect as a poor performance by me and I wil not get anymore benefits like good bonus or salary increments. Maybe the poor performance will need me to leave the jobs. Heck! I don’t want that to happen. I need to focus, focus and focus!

It’s hot now but I have no choice. I have to finish my meeting early and come back to the hotel for the UEFA Champions League final. That is my motivation for today!

Hopefully for this trip, I will not face the same experience again.

Discipline myself or just forget the whole thing. Without discipline, I will not be going anywhere. I don’t want to achieve a half cook success. It’s either success or nothing at all.

I don’t know how to predict the weather but it’s getting hotter now. At 5pm normally the weather is not so hot but that is not the case now. Even at noon is not as hot as at 5pm. Maybe the weather of the world has been changing because of the global warming effect. Too much CFC has been released by those industrialists who wants more money into their pocket rather than saving the earth for future generation. I have watched the news that two big industrialists, USA and China did not want to sign Kyoto Protocol to reduce  greenhouse gas emissions. So, if these two countries refused to sign, what is there to reduce. They are among the big factory of the world especially China.

Hopefully something can be done to save our planet. To China and USA, please sign this Kyoto Protocol because it is for the future generations.

For those netpreneurs who has made it big by raking thousands of dollars from the internet, I admire all of you. My ambition is to do just that and my journey is still far.
