Mourinho Makes Shock Chelsea Exit

The Kopites September 20th, 2007

jose.jpgMourinho’s shocking exit from Chelsea is really a shocking news to the world of football. One of the most cocky manager in English Football League dubbed himself as “The Special Ones” has left Chelsea today by mutual consent. Even though Mourinho’s contract with Chelsea still has another 3 years to go, the strained relationship between him and Abramovich cannot be saved anymore. Tuesday’s shock 1-1 draw at home to Norwegian side Rosenborg in front of a crowd of just 24,973 was their third successive game without a win following a 2-0 defeat at Aston Villa and a goalless draw with Blackburn in the Premier League. Many were expecting Mourinho to leave Chelsea at the end of the season but not as soon as today.

Mourinho led Chelsea to two straight English Premier League titles, ending a 50-year wait for the club, and won both the FA Cup and the League Cup during his tenure. After this, we will not be able to see Maurinho’s antic anymore and surely I will miss that. I can still remember how he kept moaning and moaning from year to year on the disputed goal scored by Luis Garcia during semi-final match of 2005 UEFA Champion League. He is such a moaning specialist. Anyway, that will not take away his winning record at Chelsea. Former Israel coach Avram Grant, recruited in the summer as director of football, is said to take over from Mourinho.

It’s A Draw For Liverpool FC Tonight!

The Kopites September 15th, 2007

livports.jpgThe Reds was held 0-0 at Fratton Park tonight. Although only one point was taken by Liverpool FC tonight but I am still happy because the game was played quite early. I hate to watch games where being played late at night and ending with a draw or Liverpool is the losing side. Pepe Reina is great tonight saving the spot kick by Kanu. From my point of view, it’s an average performance by Liverpool side. Nothing outstanding from Crouch and Voronin partnership. Anyway, for Liverpool to escape with a point tonight is okay with me because Portsmouth is a difficult team for Liverpool to beat and last season Portsmouth managed to take four points from Liverpool. . YNWA!

Six Is A Number To Forget For Derby County

Yay!!..I am a happy fan tonight watching Liverpool FC hammered Derby County. This game is what the fan is expecting from Liverpool FC. In the previous season, you would not have a chance to see many goals like tonight being scored by The Reds. If a game being dominated by The Reds, the most goals you will see is 3 or 4 with 1 or 2 consolation goals given. But this season, it seems like Liverpool FC has given an indication that the league tittle will be back to Anfield. I am feeling so gooooooood…

Tonight game with Derby County has shown that Liverpool FC has so much of quality this season. Eventhough without two local heroes, Steven Gerard and Jamie Carragher, Derby County was shown how strong Liverpool FC this season. Six goals being scored by Torres (2 goals 55′, 77′), Alonso (2 goals 26′,69′), Babbel (1 goal 45′) and Voronin (1 goal 76′) . Apart from the goal scorers, great performance has been shown by Liverpool player particularly Mascherano and Arbeloa. If The Reds is able to maintain this sort of performance throughout the season, Liverpool FC will be crowned as 2007/08 EPL Champion.

My Team of The Week – Liverpool FC

Hey, it’s been a while I have not updated anything on Liverpool FC since my last posting after the European Champion League Final which Liverpool lost to AC Milan. It was a painful final for a supporter like me. What an experience where I had to watch the final at a pub at Nile Hilton, Cairo. Well..Lady luck was not with The Reds.

After a long and busy summer, Liverpool FC has come back with quite an impressive squad. A few additions has been made with Fernando Torres, Ryan Babel, Youssi Benayoun, Lucas Leiva, Sebastian Leto, Andriy Voronin and a few more youngsters. Fernando Torres has become the most expensive player being bought by Liverpool at £20 million. It clearly shows that Liverpool FC is serious on mounting a challenge for this season English Premier League tittle. Manchester United felt some pressure when they refused to sell Gabriel Heinze to Liverpool FC and forcing the player to choose the Galacticos instead. Sir Alex was under pressure at this moment when they had the worst start in EPL since 1992 but do I care? I only care much for The Reds which I support not for the Devilish Red. HaHa!

So far, Liverpool FC made a very good start win 2 wins and 1 draw. That 1 draw is not supposed to be a draw. Bad Chelsea!!! Very very bad Chelsea..Liverpool should have won the match but was Robbed by Styles. Anyway, it’s a season with 38 match to play. Just forget about that match and concentrate on the coming matches. Some scrappy play was shown by the players during the three league games but it will eventually improve once they are able to gel together. As usual, my weekend will be slotted with The Reds games. So, macha!!!! Teh tarik satu, roti canai satu…!!

You’ll Never Walk Alone!!!

It’s a heartbreaking final!

It was a good game played by Liverpool. The Reds were pressurizing Milan from the first whistle but luck has not been in Liverpool side as from my point of view, the two goals by Philippo Izhaghi are pure luck.

The first goal conceded was not supposed to be awarded in the first place. The referee should have done better because the faulth for free kick which lead to the goal was only a mere touch by Xabi Alonso on Kaka. The ball also strucked the hand of Izhaghi and deflected which made Reina dived into a wrong side. It was terrible decision! Then came the second which I cannot dispute the goal at all. It’s a mistake by the defence tried to play offside and Liverpool had to pay the price. Rafa should have not taken out Mascherano because without him, Kaka has nobody to control him. Mascherano was so effective in nulifying Kaka threat.

It’s still an entertaining game. Milan clearly has not shown they are the side who beat Manchester United a few weeks ago. Eventhough, Liverpool has not won the final, in my eyes, they are still the champion of Europe.YNWA!
