The last game of EPL was played last night and it marked the end of English Premier League 2006/2007 season. Manchester United is the new EPL champion deservedly beaten Chelsea FC. At the same time, the relegations trios are confirmed with Watford, Sheffield United and Charlton FC to go down. As for Liverpool FC, a 2-2 draw with Charlton is more than enough to secure EPL third place. Of course, 3rd place is not what the fans want. It’s the champion of EPL is what everybody are crave for but the prospect of being the winner of 2007 UEFA Champion League has compensated the frustration.
Liverpool FC made two new signings before the season end. It shows that Liverpool FC will not be fighting for players with inflated price during the summers. Maybe another one or two during the summer will not do any harm. Ukranian, Andriy Voronin was signed from Bayer Leverkusen and Brazilian, Lucas Leiva from Gremio. Both of them are good signings as Voronin is on a free transfer and Leiva is rumoured being bought for £5million. In Voronin, we have got a Ukranian World Cup star, while Lucas is presently captain of the Brazil U20 team playing the 2007 South American Youth Championship, and has previously been called up to the full Brazil squad. One young prospect player at £5million and one proven world cup player at no costs, in signing new players, Liverpool FC is not as stupid as the ‘Special One’.
