Good news! The Malaysian Angkasawan has come back safely to earth from 10-days space mission to International Space Station. The Soyuz TMA-10 capsule which brought Dr Sheikh Muzaphar back to Earth, together with commander Fyodor Yurchikhin and Oleg Kotov, landed in Kazakhstan on Sunday at 6.37pm Malaysian time. The Soyuz-10 capsule which was supposed to land in Arkylk, Kazakhstan was veered off almost 340km from the original location due to ‘ballistic’ reentry. According to the Russian space officials, the crew was subjected to higher than nominal G-loads (as much as 8.5 G). Dr Sheikh Muzaphar with Russian cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko and NASA astronaut Peggy A. Whitson was blasted-off to ISS on a Soyuz TMA-11 on Oct 12, 2007.
Dr Sheikh Muzaphar must be the luckiest Malaysian on earth to have the chance to travel to ISS. USD20 millions is not a small amount and I would not think twice if given the chance to be there.
